Boulder Landlords and Tenants: Proposed New Regs to Boulder Rentals

Boulder Landlords: If you plan to keep renting your property, you should take a few minutes to review and complete the following City of Boulder Energy Effeciency Proposal Survey. Make sure to take the proper survey (one is for landlords and one is for tenants), and it must be completed by this Friday! This is an opportunity to let the city know how these proposed new requirements will affect you.

At issue are proposed new regs that would require retrofitting of older homes - basically subjecting them to current standards. The links to the surveys below will collect input on draft proposals that would require a minimum level of energy efficiency in rental housing. If adopted, the energy-efficiency component would be an appendix to the housing code, which would then establish prerequisite energy-efficiency requirements for the Boulder rental licensing program. The surveys will also be available on the SmartRegs Website, the city of Boulder Facebook page and the community Google Group pages. They will only run through April 16th!!!

Why are there two separate surveys? The city thought it would be easier for the user to take a survey pertaining to their situation . . . instead of scrolling through one long survey. Don't keep it a secret! Look at both if you'd like, just don't take the wrong one. The survey system only allows one response per computer IP address. If you take the wrong one, you won't be able to take the survey that applies to you.
