Boulder Creek Floodplain: Proposed Changes to the Map

boulder creek floodplain, boulder co, boulder floodplain map, boulder floodingBoulder Creek floodplain: Proposed changes to the 100-year floodplain map will affect some properties in Boulder positively, and some negatively.  Since the last time the map was updated in 1983, there have been a lot of changes in technology as well as to the landscape surrounding Boulder Creek.  The proposed changes to the official floodplain map of Boulder Creek will attempt to recognize these changes and more accurately reflect the current risk associated with a 100-year flood event.

According to the City of Boulder, the Boulder Water Resources Advisory Board will be holding public hearings later this year - most likely in November or December - to hear comments regarding the proposed changes, that will place some properties within the revised…
